By Air :- The nearest Airport is Jolly Grant
Airport in Dehradun, which is about 279 km from
Auli. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is a domestic

airport to Auli.

For those heading for Auli, the best possible way
is to Auli Valley During Summer catch the Dehradun
Shatabdi Express to reach Rishikesh early in the
morning. One must reach Joshimath, some 250 km from
Rishikesh on the Badrinath route, before the sunset.
Nearest railhead is Raiwala near Rishikesh (250
km approx); from here one can take a bus/tourist
cars early morning to reach Auli Joshimath/Auli
by evening. It is advisable to reach Joshimath by
4 pm, from where the ropeway chair can take you
to Auli. Road to Auli is closed after dusk.

State transport and Union buses play regularly between
Joshimath and Rishikesh (253 km). Local Transport
Union Buses and State Transport buses operate between
Joshimath and Rishikesh (253 km), Haridwar (277
km), Peace at Auli Dehradun (298 km) and Delhi (500
km). From Joshimath onwards, both bus and taxi services
are available for Auli.
Frequency of these taxies between Joshimath and
Auli is very good. The road to Auli is one of the
most picturesque roads you would ever see.
Auli by Cable Car :-
Joshimath - Auli Ropeway, Uttarakhand Joshimath
to Auli Gorson ropeway system is the highest ropeway
of India. Covering a difficult track distance of
4.15 kms in 22 minutes, the ropeway has two cable
cars and 10 towers. The ropeway passes over mesmerizing
views and worth each penny. The starting point Joshimath
is at an altitude of 6254 ft and Auli is at 9896
ft.
The Cable Car / Ropeway journey also offers a great
view of the Himalayan peaks - Nanda Devi, Mana Parbat,
Dungagri, Beethartoli, Nikanth Hathi Parbat and
Ghori Parbat. Auli itself is bordering on Gorson
Reserve forest, greened by golden oak and coniferous
trees.
Tourists are advised to bring Woollen Clothings,
Cap, Socks, Dark Glasses, Gloves, Mufflers, Pullovers,
Wind-Proof Jacket, Gum / Snow Boots and a Torch
Light. These accessories are a must for the tourist
keeping in mind the weather conditions at Auli where
the temperatures drop to as low as -8° C in winters
although it is moderately cold in the Summers.
