It is located 120 Km from Nainital, 53 km North
of Almora. This place offers a 350 km view of the Himalayan
peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. The view is so

The
hill resort of Kausani is located in the Kumaon Region
of Uttarakhand. Situated atop a narrow ridge, at 6075 feet Kausani
stands high at an altitude of 1890 metres above sea level.

overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath

BEST TIME TO VISIT KAUSANI :-
Kausani experiences snowfall during the months of December,
January and Feb, thus these three months are the best time for
Honeymooners & couples. The hill resort of Kausani is a
retreat in the summer months and may be visited during April-June
and September-November.
CLOTHING REQUIRED FOR KAUSANI :-
Summer
months will require light woollen clothing and in winters heavy
woollen.
It is here at Anashakti Ashram Mahatma Gandhi wrote
his treatise Anasakti ('detachment') Yoga - Gita-Anashakthi
Yoga. The ashram is well stocked with books and photographs
of Mahatma Gandhi's life. There is a small prayer room in this
ashram where prayers are held every morning and evening.

The birth place of famous Hindi-Poet Sumitra Nandan Pant. The
specially built gallery has a vast collection of English and
Hindi books providing a treasure trove for literature lovers.

It is called as Sarla ashram. It was found by the devotee of
Gandhiji Catherine Hillman who was known as Sarlaben. It was
established in 1946. It teaches cooking, vegetable growing and
animal caring for more than 70 poor women who lives in ashram.
